Our History
A Story of Innovation and Excitement
Finesse Diamonds was founded in 1997 by Steven Gad, a former partner in Diamonds International, with the mission of adding value to the diamond supply chain in the most innovative ways possible while also providing one-of-a-kind diamond jewelry experiences.
In 1998, Finesse introduced one of the first specialty cut diamonds, the patented Eighty-Eight, which quickly rose to unprecedented prominence.
In 2005, Finesse became the #1 seller of Canadamark diamonds, a Canadian diamond brand that introduced provenance to the diamond industry. With the Canadamark brand, Finesse promised to provide trustworthy information about a diamond's origin, journey, and impact.
Beginning in 2006, Finesse became a client of De Beers, the world's largest diamond mining company. Finesse was selected as an official De Beers sightholder, one of 78 companies doing direct business with De Beers. Accordingly, Finesse opened a diamond polishing factory in the African nation of Namibia. The manufacturing facility in Namibia trained local labor in the art of diamond cutting.
Over the past decade, Finesse has continued to add enormous value to the diamond supply chain and introduce one-of-a-kind diamond jewelry experiences. Most notable is the Finesse brand Malka, a revolutionary experience in fluorescent diamonds.
Every diamond Finesse sells has its own special narrative.
